Michael R. Riccio Jr.

Born on December 5, 1938, in New Britain, he was the son of the late Michael and Carmeline (Giano) Rich. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He dedicated 50 years of service to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft before his retirement, reflecting a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Michael enjoyed spending his time playing pool and had a passion for collecting World War II military memorabilia. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Angela M. Paradis and her husband Philip of Clinton, Michael Riccio and his wife Catherine of Southington, and Christopher Riccio of Bristol. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Larry Smith of Cheshire, Gregory Smith of Meriden, Steven Smith of Naperville, Illinois, David Smith of Southington, and Janice Brunetti of Prospect; fifteen grandchildren, Maria, Juliana, Chad, Ethan, Matthew, Marisa, Nicholas, Sarah, Stephanie, Michael, Olivia, Jack, Austin, Spencer, and Skylar; three great-grandchildren, Athena, Max, and Margo; and his sister-in-law, Claudia Riccio of Southington. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Riccio, and three stepchildren, Brian Smith, Diane Smith, and Paul Smith.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will be cherished always.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington. Calling hours will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Military honors will be accorded following the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
