Michaelangelo Cecere Palazzo

He was born on June 7, 1928, in Bonea, Italy the son of the late Domenico and Assunta (Barbarto) Cecere Palazzo. While living in Italy he worked as Corpo Forestale for 25 years and was very active in politics. Michaelangelo came to the USA in 1967, prior to his retirement he was employed by Southington Hardware Co. He was an avid gardener and loved making wine and playing bocci as well as making Sunday dinner for his boys. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Club.

He is survived by his loving children, Domenic and wife Jean Cecere Palazzo, Raffaele and wife Connie Cecere Palazzo, Assunto and wife Patricia Cecere Palazzo, Gina and husband Joseph Telfer, Maria and husband John Ricciardone all of Southington, 11 cherished grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Lisa, Jo-Ann, Robert, Nicholas, Jessica, Michael, Paul, JP and Michael;

4 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Dominque, Dante and Jayden. He also leaves three sisters, Victoria Corley, Antonietta Perone and Concetta Iacobucci all of Southington and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Felice Cecere Palazzo.

The Funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
