
Nancy was the daughter of Eleanor (Zehnder) Salvatore of Watertown and the late Frank Salvatore. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, earned a BA in English with a minor in Journalism from the University of CT and later a diploma from the St. Mary?s Hospital School of Nursing.
Nancy worked as an EMT with Professional Ambulance of Middletown and Campion Ambulance in Waterbury. She was a life member of Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance. She also was a nurse in the ER at Bristol Hospital and with CW Resources in New Britain and was formerly employed with Watertown VNA Health and Home. Nancy was a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, and the International Association of Forensic Nurses. She was an avid reader, a collector of teddy bears, loved her two cats and enjoyed attending renaissance fairs.
Besides Roger her husband of 11 years, and her mother of Watertown, Nancy leaves two uncles Paul Burgio and Anthony and his wife Henrietta Salvatore, her mother and father-in-law Eve and Jerry Tarre of West Hartford, a brother-in-law Dave and his wife Laura Tarre of Alexandria, VA and many loving friends.
Roger would like to sincerely thank everyone at VITAS Hospice and all of Nancy?s friends for their support during this difficult time.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church 1300 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wolcott Volunteer Fire Co # 3, PO Box 6036, Wolcott, CT 06716, or MADD 317 Foxon Rd, East haven 06513. There will also be a collection of new unwrapped teddy bears and other toys to be donated to Toys For Tots at both services.
