

Southington-Nancylee Binder Salerno, age 61, passed away suddenly on Sunday the 23rd of December following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Nancylee?s heart and soul were truly her family. She is survived by her husband, John, and their 5 children Janalynne, Gary, Emily, Hillary and Christiana together with their respective spouses Mark Gius, Michael Gould and Nickolas Holiday. She also left behind her treasured grandchildren Jacob, Nicholas, and Gaines whom she bragged about often to anyone who would listen. Her giving heart and generous spirit serve as a legacy to her family.
Nancylee was a nursing supervisor and triage-floor nurse for the Pediatric and Adolescence Medical Group in Middletown, CT. She was well-liked by her colleagues and loved by her little patients, many of whom would ask for her by name.
Nancylee comes from a large, close-knit family. She returns home to be reunited with her mother Ruth Elizabeth. Her beloved father Russell W. Binder and his wife Rebecca reside in Hendersonville, NC along with her eldest sister Janet and husband John Arwe. She will be missed by her other siblings: Linda and Greg Armston, Bill Binder and Barbara Jordan, Carl and Joanne Binder, Scott and Susan Binder, as well as Todd and Donna Binder. Finally, she leaves behind MANY nieces, nephews and friends who brought much love and joy to her heart, including her life-long partner in crime and motorcycle buddy, Sharon Kain who could often be seen buzzing around town with her. She enjoyed traveling with her family and often had her Kindle in hand. She loved sleeping on the beach, caring for her house plants, and spoiling her dogs Grace and Hope.
Nancylee had a radiant personality, boundless energy and a way of making all with whom she came in contact feel truly blessed.
Calling hours will be Thursday evening, December 27th from 5 to 8 pm at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT. There will be a celebration of Nancylee?s life at a memorial service on Friday the 28th of December beginning at 11 am. It will be held in the Chapel in the Pine at the Aqua Turf Club, 556 Mulberry Street in Plantsville, CT. Please join her family for a luncheon to share stories and cherished memories following the service in the Glass Room.
