Patrick M. Carmody

          Born in Waterbury on March 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Maurice and Veronica (Popikas) Carmody. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion in Wolcott. He worked for Tamarack Construction Co. in Danbury for over 30 years retiring in 1988. He was Wolcott resident since 1955, an avid sports fan and enjoyed gardening in his retirement.

          Besides his devoted wife Joan of 55 years, he is survived by his three children, his son Patrick Carmody, daughter Nancy and her husband Skip Jannetty all of Waterbury, a son Peter and his wife Gina Carmody of Wolcott, two sisters Sr. Maureen Carmody, Sisters of St. Joseph of West Hartford, and Hanna Porto of Torrington. He will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren Heather Youle and her husband Edward of Southington, Peter Carmody Jr. of Boston, Joseph Carmody of New York City, Christopher Carmody of Wolcott, Rachel Carmody of Southington and his great granddaughter Taylor J. Youle who was very special to him. Patrick was predeceased by a brother John Carmody and a sister Gloria Tully.

 Funeral will be Friday 9:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott to St. Leo The Great Church for a Mass at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will be in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
