It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline K. Marietta, 82, who left this world peacefully on February 12, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She was the wife of the late Richard Marietta and was born in Albany, NY, to the late Raymond and Marion (Williams) Klein.
Pauline was a true teacher at heart, possessing a passion for knowledge that spanned beyond her formal education, which included a master’s degree in education. She had an insatiable thirst for learning, often turning to her trusted companion, Google, to dive deeper into any topic that piqued her interest. She loved trivia, and her ability to recall facts and details never failed to amaze those around her.
An avid reader, Pauline was a cherished member of the Spring Lake Village Book Club, where her love for books brought her great joy and connection with others. She also found great enjoyment in playing the game of Bingo and was also a skilled Bridge player and instructor. She was always eager to share her knowledge with others.
Her creative spirit was evident in her love for cross-stitching, and her travels to Hilton Head, Vegas, and Palm Desert, California, were a testament to her adventurous side. Pauline’s true happiness, however, came from being with her family, whether attending her grandchildren's sporting events or simply enjoying the outdoors.
A dedicated advocate for animals, Pauline took pride in walking dogs in her power wheelchair. She trained several of them to become support animals, ensuring they were comfortable with individuals who have disabilities. Her gentle nature and love for animals left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Pauline is survived by her three children: Daughter Monica, Son Michael and his wife Jennifer, and Daughter Meredith and her husband Todd. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Ayreanna, Cody, Jacoby, and Jayson, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Evelie and Georgianna.
Pauline will always be remembered for her intellect, kindness, and resilience. Her legacy of love, learning, and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at St Matthew Church 120 Church St. Forestville, CT 06011. Interment to follow will be private. There will be no calling hours.
