

Born January 6, 1943 in Bristol he was the son of Mary (Cretella) Monteleone of Bristol and the late Philip Monteleone.
Philip retired in 1999 from the Hartford Ins. Group. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0002, VFW and the Scarpa Shoda. Phil loved to cook, especially for his family and was famous for his sauce and "Phil's chicken". He was a well-known pool player for several teams. He was an avid reader, bocci player, golfer and loved to fish. But most of all he loved to spend his time with his family.
In addition to his wife, mother and father-in-law Joseph Casale of Southington he leaves his children, Philip Monteleone Jr. of Plainville, Joseph Monteleone and wife Laurie of Southington and Daneen Monteleone-Shepard and husband Keven Shepard of Bristol; a sister Magdalene Parizo of Bristol; a brother Fred Monteleone and wife Michelle of Bristol; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Jason, Matthew, Rachel, Gia, Ashley, Jeff and Emily. He also leaves a great-grandson Dallas and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearley. He was predeceased by a sister Angela Lagana and mother-in-law Rose Casale. Phil will be missed by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 23rd at 10 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen Street, Bristol for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
