

Phyllis was born on March 6, 1926 in Meriden, the daughter of the late Charles and Stasia (Staniszewski) Kenny. She is survived by a daughter Susan Perillo of Southington, a son, Mark Perillo and his wife Suzanne McKitis-Perillo of Barkhamsted, 2 grandsons, Jonathan Perillo and Andrew Perillo ,a sister Dorothy Kasey and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her baby sister Irene Kenny.
She was a bookkeeper at Connecticut Telephone & Electric Co., Church & Morse, Inc., and Schurgast-Perlin Associates P.C., and an office manager for Matthew D. Mermelstein in Meriden. She also was a real estate broker for Perillo Real Estate in Southington, a sales associate and interior decorator for Home Decorating Center in Plantsville.
Phyllis served the Southington community as a member of the St. Thomas Church Parish Council and Choir, St. Rita’s Circle, and Past President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Bradley Memorial Hospital.
Her passion was creative design in various media, ranging from sewing to reverse painting on glass. She was an award winning artist, most notably for her hand-sewn quilts and embroidered needle-paintings. She was a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, Southington Arts and Crafts Association, and Apple Valley Quilters.
Above all, Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother whose fortitude, love, and support were unwavering.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 am. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
