Richard R. "Dick" Stevens

Southington- Richard R. ?Dick? Stevens Jr., 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband for 38 years of Marilyn (Ziebka) Stevens.

He was born in Parris Island, SC, on Jan. 15, 1946, the son of Janet (Tanner) Stevens of Bristol and the late Richard R. Stevens Sr. He had graduated from Bristol Eastern High School. Dick was a partner at Woodford Auto in Plainville since 1973. He loved spending time with his family in Eastham on Cape Cod.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son Richard R. Stevens III of Easthampton, MA, two daughters Rachel and husband James Antonucci of East Haven, and Rebecca and husband Patrick McGuigan of Bristol, a brother James Stevens of San Diego, CA, his special-in-laws Ray and Madonna Lemay and their children, Jill and Brendan, Matt and Linda Ziebka and their daughters, Amanda and Allison.

Dick and his family would like to thank Dr. Gary Tansino and his nurses, Karen, Kate and Dawn, in the Oncology Dept. and Dr. H. Wazaz in the Digestive Health Center at Midstate Medical Center for their compassionate care.

A private funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2012 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in his memory to the Oncology Dept. Midstate Medical Center, 435 Lewis Ave. Meriden, CT 06451
