Richard Monroe

Born in Waterbury on January 13, 1953, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ruth (Seymour) Monroe. He was raised in Wolcott and has lived in Middletown for the last two years.

Richard is survived by four siblings; a brother Geno and his wife Jean Monroe, a sister Patricia and her husband John Holcomb  all of Wolcott, a brother John Monroe of Waterbury, a sister Marilyn Monroe, and a sister-in-law Laurie Monroe both of Wolcott. He is also survived by a half-brother William Monroe of Winsted and a half-sister Barbara Commerford of Canaan. He leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends from Middletown who will miss him dearly. He also was predeceased by a brother Gary Monroe and his special love Janet Piotrowski.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday March 17, from 5 to 7 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Road, Wolcott.  A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 1:00 pm March 20, 2009 at the Church of the Holy Trinity 381 Main St. Middletown.
