
WATERBURY- Richard Charles Orlowski, 61, beloved husband of JoAnn (Gramigna) Orlowski died peacefully on Tuesday March 11, 2008, surrounded by his family at Waterbury Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Derby on Jan 4, 1947, Richard was the son of the late Charles and Jane (Horosieski) Orlowski. He was a graduate of Ansonia High and Waterbury State Technical College. For over 25 years he worked for United Technologies Norden System in Norwalk and was also employed by Cognitronics in Danbury and Modelcraft Manufacturing in Watertown.
Richard was a devoted family man not only to his wife of 33 years and his sons but he helped his extended family. He also coached baseball and basketball in the East Mountain Athletic Association and at the YMCA.
Besides his wife Richard is survived by two sons Christopher and his wife Marybeth Orlowski of Waterbury, Scot and his fiancée Nisia Rodrigues of Lowel, MA, his cherished grandson Andrew Orlowski, two brothers William Orlowski of Seymour and Charles Orlowski and his partner Miss Sharmayne Faris of Torrance, CA, a sister and brother in law Carolyn and Lee Dumas and nieces Lori Dumas, Kari and her husband Jared Smith.
Richard's family would like to extend a special thanks to the physicians and staff in the medical oncology, hematology and radiology departments at the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center and to the staff on the 5th floor of the Pomeroy wing at Waterbury Hospital.
