Robert Carbone

He was born June 1, 1932 in Southington, son of the late Felice and Giovanna (Testa) Carbone. He was a devoted Catholic and founding member of the Mary Our Queen Parish. He was a retired stock broker and had worked at Coburn & Meredith. Mr. Carbone served for 14 years on the town council and coached Little League Baseball for 10 years. He had been a lifetime member of the Sons of Italy Club and was presented their first top honor Brotherhood Award in 2004. He assisted Italian immigrants to become United States citizens for many years as a member of the Maria SS Degli Angeli Society.

He was the proud father of 10 children and their spouses, Philip Carbone of Phoenix, MD, Frederick Carbone of Southington, Thomas and Pamela Carbone of Torrington, Julanne Rosa of Allentown, PA, Stephen and Tracey Carbone of Plantsville, Jonathan and Sheila Carbone of Southington, Robert and Cindy Carbone of Bristol, David and Marlene Carbone of Plantsville, Ellen Carbone, Colleen and Thomas Tsangarides all of Southington, 26 grandchildren; Nicholas, Kristen, Matthew, Michael, Courtney, Timothy, David, Jonathan, Johanna, Shannon, Bethany, Kelly, Colleen, Joseph, Chelsea, Rachel, Eric, Christopher, Ryan, Vincent, William, Jacqueline, Katina, Rebecca, Krysta, and Thomas, 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Bradley and Liam, 2 sisters, Jean Heller of Southington and Julia Donahue of Simsbury and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Lisa (Saviola) Carbone, a brother Chrissie Carbone, 2 sisters Rose Savarese and Julia Carbone.

The Funeral will be held Tuesday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the CT Children’s Medical Center, 282 Washington St. Hartford, CT 06106 or the Maria SS Degli Angeli Society c/o Robert Aldieri, 56 Pheasant Run Rd.
