

He was born on June 5, 1928 in Southington the son of the late Joseph and Adelaide (Pepe) Casale. Bob was a U.S Army Veteran of WWII serving 3 years in Italy with the 313th Combat Engineers Demolition division.
He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 30 years of service. After retirement he started Casale Iron Works. Bob was a well-known welder and much of his work can be seen throughout Southington. He was the chairman of the Gang of Scarpa Shoda for many years and was an avid hunter.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children, Robert J. Casale Jr. and wife Geraldine, Betty Ann Casale, Joseph Casale and Rose, Kathy Wagner and husband James, Stephen Casale and wife Laura all of Southington, 12 grandchildren, Robert III, Justin, Danny, Christopher, Kara, Anthony, James Jr., Jordan, Jyllian, Samantha, Ashley and Kaitlyn, 3 great-grandchildren, Jesse, McKenzie and Jacob. He also leaves a brother Joseph Casale Jr., 3 sisters, Adeline Kearney, Shirley White and husband Harold and Lucille Tedesco, and an Aunt Fay Carbone all of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Sciola, 2 brothers, John and William Casale.
The funeral will be held on Monday Jan. 6, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday Jan. 5, 2014 from 2-6 p.m.
