Robert Henry Mead

Robert Henry Mead, 84, passed away at Vitas Innovative Hospice Care at St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. He was married to the love of his life, Greta (Myklebust) Mead, for 62 years. Bob was born in Stamford on Dec. 16, 1928, the son of the late Henry and Evelyn Mead. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Bob was a printing pressman foreman, retiring from the New England Printing Company in Trumbull.

He is survived by two children, Cynthia and husband Gary Demchak of Meriden, and Robert Mead and wife Susan Hamlin of Lovell, Maine. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christina and Gregory Demchak of Meriden, Stephen and wife Jennifer Mead of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and David Mead of Tucson, Arizona. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandson in October. He had a niece, Debra Zrelak of Seymour, and a nephew, Bruce Bjork of Darien.

The family would like to thank Dr. Henry Borkowski, Dr. Mark Schoenfeld, Dr. Peter Giacomazzi and Dr. Eric Walshe and their staffs for the excellent medical care they provided over the years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 am, at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Calling hour will be prior to from 10 ?11 am. Burial will follow at the Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott.
