

He was born December 11, 1964, in New Britain and was the son of the late Richard Legnani and Sophie (Biskupiak) Gagne.
Rodd was the proud owner and operator of Rodd’s Restaurant in Bristol for many years, where he shared his passion for cooking with the community. He enjoyed hiking, riding his Harley, driving his antique 62 Studebaker, hosting car shows at his former restaurant Erika’s in Southington, but most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his daughter, Erika, especially during their visits to Disney World.
He was the loving father of Erika Legnani of Southington. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by four brothers: Richard Legnani of Ellington, Ronald Legnani of East Haddam, Robert Legnani of Terryville, and Roger Legnani of Florida; his former wife and best friend, Gina Legnani-Pellrine of Southington and her children, Dylan, Emilee and Eryn; as well as several nieces, nephews, long-time staff, and “Rodd’s family” especially Laurie his close friend and favorite waitress, two special members of his care team Ivonne and Liz, his half siblings, Thomas Legnani of Newington, Stephen Legnani of Berlin and Jennifer Legnani of New Britain. He was predeceased by his brother, Russell Legnani.
Rodd will be remembered for his laugh and odd sense of humor, his love of life, and the special bond he shared with his daughter Erika who was his whole world. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Rodd will be held at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be privately held with his family at a later date.
