Rolando Abeleda

Rolando Abeleda, 74 of Southington, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the HCC at New Britain General. He was the beloved husband of Violeta (Lualhati) Abeleda. Born in the Philippines on June 3, 1939 son of the late Magno and Francisca (Villas) Abeleda.

Prior to his retirement he was a Postman for the USPS. He was a member of St. Dominic Church. Rolando enjoyed traveling. He loved and cherished all of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Rovelyn Alzona and her husband Rolly, Ann Liza Abastillas and her husband Renato all of Southington, Rhone Abeleda and his wife Cecile of Toms River, NJ, two brothers Lamberto Abeleda of Shelbyville, IN, and Avelino Abeleda of the Philippines, two sisters Teriesita Benedito of Yonkers, NY, and Angelina Reonal of the Philipines, seven grandchildren Rover Ivan Alzona, Royd Dillon Alzona, Rolleen Sam Alzona, Matteus Joel Abastillas, Gabriella Renee Abastillas, Joshua Ronuel Abeleda, and Jayden Kyle Abeleda.

A service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 until the time of the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
