

Romeo Mamaril Natividad, 87, of Cheshire, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025 with his family at his side. Born on February 7, 1937, in Manila, Philippines, Romeo was the son of the late Agapito J. Natividad and Maxima Mamaril.
Romeo’s education began at Far Eastern University in Manila, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce. His early career included working as an interpreter at the Regional Trial Court in Pasig, Manila, and owning and managing his own pharmacy. In 1974, Romeo and his family migrated to the United States, started in Lower Manhattan, then moved to Queens, NY. Later he and his family moved to Danville, PA and then Shavertown, PA. He and his wife then settled in Cheshire, CT to join their daughters and grandson.
In the U.S., Romeo worked in a variety of roles, starting as an insurance underwriter at American Express in NYC before moving to Pennsylvania where he could take care of his children. Later, he became employed in the clerical department at Geisinger Medical Center, from which he retired in 1994. Throughout his career, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, providing for his family and playing an active role in his daughters' upbringing. His dedication to his family was unwavering as he cared for his two daughters, Claudelle and Alessandra, through their formative school years.
A man of deep rooted faith, Romeo served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas Beckett Church in Cheshire for over ten years. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed hobbies such as playing Mahjong, completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku puzzles, playing Mexican Train Dominoes, and Bingo. His love of reading was boundless, and he often found joy in sharing these interests with others.
Romeo was preceded in death by his daughter, Alessandra Natividad; his brother, Ricardo and his sister Conchita. He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Nita C. Natividad of Cheshire; daughter Claudelle Natividad Le of Cheshire; and his cherished grandson, Richmond Jesse Le. Also surviving are his nephew, Eric Agapito Natividad (wife Julie Grageda Natividad and son Julian Grageda Natividad) of San Diego, CA; his niece, Aissa Sabio (husband James Sabio) of Bicol, Philippines; and his sisters-in-law, Astrid Natividad of Bicol, Philippines, Amelita Menor of Batangas City, Philippines, Maria Theresa Lee (husband Fred Lee) of Mesa, AZ, and Gloria Landicho (husband Ronilo Landicho) of Batangas City, Philippines.
Romeo’s life was a testament to love, commitment, and service. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at The Church of St. Dominic, 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington at 9AM. All are asked to gather directly at the church for Mass. His family will receive visitors on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4-7PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Interment will be private.
