

Bristol- Ronald J. Grochowski, 63, of Bristol, beloved husband of Marilyn (Parnell) Grochowski, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 10, 2010. Born April 15, 1947 in Waterbury, the son of Alberta A. Grochowski of Southington and the late Stanley J. Grochowski. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and Post College. Ron was a born salesman with the gift of gab who worked in recent years for Walpole Woodworking of Farmington, CBK Giftware of TN, BB&S Lumber of RI and Target of Southington. He was a longtime member of Torrington Lodge of Elks #372 and a member of Bowling Team #5.
Ron was an avid fisherman who loved fishing for big salmon in Pulaski, NY. He also enjoyed walking the beaches of the Outer Banks, spur of the moment day trips with his wife, gambling at the Mohegan Sun, winning at Bingo, and waiting for that winning lottery ticket. Ron had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Ronald Grochowski Jr. of Torrington, daughter Wendy Grochowski Urso of Granby, granddaughter Cassandra Rose Grochowski, sister Donna Lee Hamelin and husband James of Tampa, FL and a large extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family is very grateful for the kindness and care given to Ron by the staff at the Fresenius Medical Center in Forestville.
The Funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Plantsville at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
