

She was born in Alvignanello, Italy on July 22, 1933, the daughter of Sisto Salzillo and Giovannina (DeMarco) Salzillo. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by 5 Star Factory for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas church.
Rosalinda was predeceased by husband of over 60 years, Ignazio Tufano. She leaves two sons Cuono Tufano and wife Lisa, Vincenzo Tufano and wife Jodi, and daughter Filomena Bocek, and son-in-law Brian Bocek all of Southington; She also leaves her sister Maria Picone and her husband Luigi, her brother Amato Salzillo and wife Carmela also of Southington. Cherished grandchildren Ignazio Tufano and girlfriend Kaitlin Kretock, Rosalinda Wilkison and husband Mathew, Julia Bocek and fiancé Kyle Upton, Jessica Bocek and boyfriend Joshua Lonicki, and Jacob Bocek and girlfriend Kayla Grech; she also leaves her great grandson Johnathan Wilkinson and great grand dog Beans Bocek, as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Loreta Salzillo and her niece Maria Gaudio both of Alvignanello, Italy.
In Rosalinda’s childhood, she helped her parents work in the farms of Italy during and after World War II. Rosalinda and Ignazio got married in Italy and moved to America in 1968. She then started working in the Southington Laundromat and 5 Star factory. For over 25 years, Rosalinda could be found during Music on the Green and the Apple Harvest Festival parade in Southington making fried dough and pasta fagioli. There you would find Southington residents lined up for her cooking.
Rosalinda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends.
Beyond all measures, she loved and cared for and worked tirelessly for her family. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 8:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville at 9 am for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
