

Born on October 5, 1947, in Kittery, Maine, Stephen was the beloved son of the late Richard and Barbara (Schmidt) Curtis. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Stephen went on to build a successful career as the longtime owner of AAA Interstate Explosives in Branford, where he was respected for his hard work, integrity, and dedication to his profession.
He very much loved his family and equally loved watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees, Old School 1980’s Heavyweight Boxing and his beloved dogs he loved and adored.
Stephen was the devoted husband of the late Magaraci “Angel” Curtis, whose memory he cherished deeply. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment to one another.
He is survived by his two sons, Christopher Curtis and Brian Curtis as well as his sister Cheryl Ivans. Stephen was also a loving and proud grandfather to Jake Curtis, Dakota Curtis, Jared Curtis, Devon Curtis, Ashlyn Curtis, Spencer Curtis, and Teagan Curtis.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Stephen was predeceased by his brother, Lee Curtis.
A visitation for Stephen will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, CT 06489. Interment will take place privately with his family.
