Steven McCarty

He was born on March 11, 1947 in Houlton, ME, the son of Virginia Brewster of Plainville and the late James McCarty.

Steve was the former owner of McCarty Mechanical Services and was currently employed by PerfectTemp. He was an avid golfer and was a member of North Ridge Men's Club where he was the 1997 Player of the Year. He was a sports fan and enjoyed the Washington Red Skins, the UCONN Huskies and Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the CT Valley Service Managers Assoc. where he was past president and board member. In 1990 Steve was awarded the Service Manager of the Year by the N.A.O.H.S.M.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children, Steven and wife Robin McCarty of Wingdale, NY, Robert McCarty and partner Cynthia Meade of E. Barre, VT, Deborah McCarty and partner David Clauss of Bristol, and William and wife Shannon McCarty of Tampa, FL, 2 sisters, Bonnie and husband Ken Kizilski of Southington and Connie Kraft of Plainville, 2 brothers, Dean and wife Carolyn McCarty of Elkton, MD and Michael and wife Brenda McCarty of Plainville. He also leaves many grandchildren including Lance Corp. Shayne R. McCarty and Arron Steven McCarty of Tampa, FL also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins including Sally and Floyd Reed of Houlton, ME. He was predeceased by a sister Deborah Jean McCarty and sister-in-law Beverly Mollica.

Anyone who knew Steve and Donna knew how much they loved each other and how devoted they were to each other.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St at 10 am for a Mass. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-8 pm.
