

Theresa D. (DeSeno) Silas, 84, of Southington, beloved widow of the late Leo A. Silas, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus, after a brief illness. Theresa was born in New Britain on July 17, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Carmino and Mary (Peroni) DeSeno. Theresa was employed as a bookkeeper for several manufacturing firms in New Britain prior to her retirement. A lover and rescuer of animals, she always made sure her back yard birds were always fed and taken care of. She enjoyed watching them especially cardinals which were her favorite. Theresa was a spitfire, always shot from the hip and you knew were you stood with her. She was always very neatly put together and always dressed to the nines. Theresa was a faithful communicant of Mary Our Queen Church of Southington. Theresa is survived by her nieces, Elaine Anton and her husband Vincent of Winchester Center, CT, Frances DeSeno of North Carolina, and Lisa DeSeno and her wife Dorothy Fippinger of Berlin. She is also survived by her nephews, Peter DeSeno and his wife Frances of Newington, Gary Spelucin and his wife Jill of North Carolina, and John DeSeno of Michigan along with several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her three brothers, Peter DeSeno Sr., Salvatore DeSeno and Lucien DeSeno and also by her three sisters, Mary Spell, Constance Zigmund and Lucy DeSeno. A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville, CT 06479. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain. There will be no calling hours.
