
Salem, MA ? Virginia Ann (Gulli) Fontana, 74, wife of the late Henry Louis Fontana formerly of East Hartford died after a brief illness on Saturday February 4, 2012 at Brigham and Women?s Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Hollister, CA on June 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Calione) Gulli.
Virginia was a stay at home mom taking care of her family which she did so well with her great cooking. When she wasn?t inside taking care of the home she was outside tending to the garden. She was also a member of St. Rose Church in East Hartford.
Virginia is survived by two sons Stephen Wooldridge and his wife Romayne of Langhorne, PA, Eric J. Fontana and his wife Heather of Shrewsbury, MA, a daughter Susan Clark and husband John of Salem, MA, six grandchildren, sisters Judy Lyon of San Jose, CA, Yolanda Thompson of Salinas, CA, and Barbara Boyle and husband Les of Hayward, CA, brothers James Gulli and wife Jeannette of San Dimas, CA, and Eugene Gulli and wife Katherine of Hollister, CA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 53 years she was predeceased by a sister Angie Filice and brothers Carmen, Joseph, George, and Tony Gulli.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10 am at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
