

Virginia worked for a large corporation in Boston as a secretary right out of high school until her early 20’s. She was an avid bowler and was in a women’s league for many years. She also enjoyed playing cards, dining out with friends and family and she had a passion for traveling with her husband Tom, in their RV visiting family and seeing sites across the States. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas A. Jehnings of Southington, 5 children; Margaret Fontanella and her husband Jim, Michael Jehnings and his wife Nellie of Southington, Carole Trask of Cambridge, ME., Thomas A. Jehnings Jr., and his wife Louise of Cambridge, ME., and Mark Jehnings and his wife Sheri of Burlington, 3 sisters; Diana Gilbert of Sangerville, ME., Janet Stutzman of Homosassa, FL., Brenda Gourley of Guilford, ME., 2 brothers; Gary Dow and his wife Dalilah of Villages, FL., Guy Dow and his wife Heidi of Guilford, ME., as well as 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parent, brothers Peter and Dana “Jack” Dow, sisters Patricia Stewart and Carolyn Hersey, and grandson Brandon Jehnings.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 10-11:30 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia funeral home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. A continuation of Ginny’s celebration will be followed at the Manor Inn, 1636 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Plantsville. Committal services will be held at Milo Cemetery, 72-74 Park St. Milo, ME., at 11:30 a.m. on June 8th, 2024. There will be a celebration of life following the burial.
