Virginia Pearl McCarty

Southington- Virginia Pearl (Tripp) McCarty, 84, of 43 Academy LA entered into rest surrounded by her family Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Central CT Hospital, Bradley Campus. She was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas C. McCarty.

She was born March 9, 1925 in Old Town, ME daughter of the late Merle and Gladys (Morgan) Tripp. She was co-founder of the Family Christian Worship Center in Meriden and had been secretary for their school. As a woman of prayer, she understood its power and interceded faithfully for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Steven McCarty and his wife Marsha of Southington, Gordan McCarty and his wife Patricia of Meriden, Timothy McCarty and his wife Sharma of Waterbury, David McCarty and his wife Laurie of Bristol and Merlene McCarty of Ohio, a sister Arline Tripp of Old Town, ME, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Joan Jacobs and a grandson Thomas Jacobs.

The Funeral will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at the Family Christian Worship Center, 53 Coe Avenue, Meriden. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 4-8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St.
