

Vito F. Colaninno, 87, of Plantsville and Port Charlotte, FL, beloved husband of Teresa (DelGiudice) Colaninno entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 06, 2019. Born in Waterbury on November 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank and Dora (Sambuco) Colaninno. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. He was an electrician retiring from Stanley Works and owned VFC Electric. Vito enjoyed spending winters in Florida where he made many friends, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of 63 years, he leaves a daughter, Karen and her husband Phil Sposi of Southington and a son, Frank and his wife Lisa Colaninno of Kensington, five grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Phil Brennan, Christina and her husband Michael Mancarella, Michael Sposi and his fiancée Debbie Molina, Carrie Sposi, Frank Colaninno Jr. and his fiancée Brittany Thomas, and six great grandchildren, Mason, Vito, Jacob, Sophia, Owen and Madeline. He was predeceased by a sister Ann Marie Ciotti.
A funeral service will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. in Southington. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 8 to 9 am. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. For online condolences and directions, visit www.dellavecchiafh.com.
