

He was born on May 7, 1925 in New Britain, the son of the late Roy and Teresa (Casavecchia) Tombari. He graduated from local schools and later attended the U.S. Army Air Force Techinical School. He flew 8 missions as a gunner on a B-24 Liberator during World War II. He belonged to the 8th Air Force Second Division. He retired from working many years as a plumber and pipefitter.
He was a member and supporter of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society, the American Legion, United Assoc. of Plumbing & Pipefitting Industry Local 777.
He enjoyed flying Cessnas, fishing, hunting, gardening and working outside.
Besides his wife Eunice of 64 years, he leaves his children Cheryl Urso and husband Joe of Ivoryton, Diane Tricarico of Southington and Roger Tombari and wife Maureen of Southington, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Nancy.
The Funeral Service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be with military honors at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9:30 - 11 a.m.
