After marrying Alan, they moved to Montreal and then on to Newfoundland where she worked as a nursing instructor at St. John's General Hospital. In 1979, she and her family relocated to St. Catharines where she taught at Niagara College and then worked for VON Niagara. A caring, compassionate and dedicated nurse, Alyce practiced for 60 years, retiring from nursing on the day that she became ill in April 2021.
Throughout her life, Alyce devoted herself to the service of others. She was a 61 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and an elder and dedicated volunteer with the United Church of Canada. Her life was brought joy with her passions - her family and friends, walking her dogs, contract bridge and summers at the family cottage at Maple Grove, Grand Bend.
