She was born on November 1, 1938 to John (“Jack”) and Mary Fraser in Glasgow, Scotland. She is predeceased by her first husband (Bill Hamilton, 1987) and her youngest son (Stewart Hamilton, 2022).
Anne was active in her youth playing tennis and enjoyed ballroom dancing for most of her life. She immigrated to Canada with family in 1971. She was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Linhaven Long-term Care home for many years. Anne loved dressing up for all parties and enjoyed the odd glass of wine and/or a wee dram of whisky.
She was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star in 1979 and was a proud and dedicated member of Lincoln Chapter #142 in St. Catharines. As Grand Electa in 2003-4 Anne attended many events with her dear friends and fellow “Lady Bugs”.
Anne is survived by her husband Archie McLay, her sons John Hamilton (Birgit) & Jim Hamilton (Marlene); her daughter-in-law Martha (Stewart) as well as seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a grand-niece Susan Wilson (Douglas) of Scotland. She will be missed by all.
