We are saddened to announce the passing of Audrey Sheila Cline of St Catharines. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. Dr. Philip Cline, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Audrey was born in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, and later moved to Saskatoon, where she met Philip. They were married and lived in Saskatchewan, then Alberta. It was in Edmonton that Audrey, after raising her family, attained a Bachelor of Social Work and worked for Alberta Social Services. She continued this work when she and her husband moved to Ontario, where they have resided since 1983.
Audrey was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Shaver Hospital and the oncology unit at the Hotel Dieu. She was also active with the United Church Women’s groups at the numerous churches she attended throughout her life. She truly cared for the people she encountered, befriended, and worked with. She was humble, kind, and direct, with a great sense of humour.
She will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and others whose lives she touched.
Special thanks to the staff of the Trillium Unit at the Niagara Falls General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UCW at Trillium United Church (formerly First Grantham), 415 Linwell Road, St Catharines.
Cremation has taken place. Audrey’s funeral Service will be held at Trillium United Church on January 7th, at 11 am. Interment will follow at a later date, in Zelma, Saskatchewan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hulse and English Funeral Home and Chapel in St Catharines.
