

PILSWORTH, Bernard Thomas William – Passed away peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in his 91st year. Bernard was born in England on August 13, 1922. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Currie); dearly loved father of Norman (June), Bernie (Rose), John (Mariann); loving grandfather of Christopher (Claire), Andrew, Jane (Mark), Sarah, Shannon, Jessica, Alys and Evan and loving great-grandfather of Nathan, Gavin and Marin. Also survived by his sister Sylvia Chidlaw in Dursley, England, sisters-in-law Margaret Pappa and Vera Currie. He served in the British Army in WWII. Bernard was an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 105 for 60 years. He worked at BP, later Petro Canada Oil Refinery in Bronte for 35 years. During his retirement he and his wife Margaret (Peggy) relocated to St. Catharines. A special thank you to Dr. Arventi, the staff at the Hotel Dieu Shaver, Palliative Care Unit, Andrea and the CCAC (Niagara) for their kindness, compassion and care. The family will receive friends at St. George’s Anglican Church, 83 Church Street, and St. Catharines on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. with Funeral Service to follow in the church at 2 p.m. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to the St. George’s Anglican Church Out of the Cold Program or the Hotel Dieu Shaver Palliative Care Unit, 2West.
