On April 30, 2014, Beverly Margaret Lewis, in the presence of her immediate family, left behind a legacy of love, commitment, strength and wisdom. Beverly was born on July 18th, 1935 in St. Catharines and she lived her entire life enjoying the community and friendship that she so cherished here in the Garden City. Beverly and her family were continually involved in community affairs. She recently celebrated her 50th anniversary as a member of Beta Sigm Phi Sorority and in 1968 she was selected Beta Sigma Phi Girl of the Year. She was a member of the United Way Board of Directors, Niagara Symphony Women’s Committee and in 1977 she became the first female president of the St. Catharines Tennis Club. Bev was a member of the Royal St. Catharines Croquet Club and was a driving force behind the creation and development of the Golf Croquet section. She shared fifty - nine years with her dear husband David and was fortunate enough to give birth to Nancy, Scott, Cathy and Judy. With her guidance and love, her family was strengthened by the relationships shared with their spouses Gary Parsons, Patricia Lewis, Peter Buis and Randy Dykstra. Her family legacy continues with nine grandchildren: Rae, David, Margaret, Samantha, Dalton, Brennan, Morgan, Lexi, and Gillian and 3 great grand children Fia, Sadie and Jack. Her life is a tribute to the power of perseverance, unconditional love and the tenacity to always do the right thing. She is survived by her sister Sandra Ciceran (Duff), Barbara Howe and her brother Matthew Gifford. Thanks to Dr. Tim Tatzel for the unwavering guidance and support he has given our family. Her life was enhanced every day by the relationship with her sister Sandra and her husband Al and all of her dear friends. Beverly was a beautiful, elegant, take no prisoners type of gal and our lives are forever richer because of her. She made the world a better place. Beverly accumulated, through her direct family, 554 years of love. We will all carry a piece of Beverly in our hearts and we will continue her legacy of living life to the fullest and being true to those you love. Beverly, you ROCKED!
