He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 55 years, Elizabeth, who passed away on March 25, 2020.
Loving father of Mark (Liz) of Kitchener, and Trina (Jamie) of Toronto.
Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Evan, Andrew, Owen (deceased), Aubrey (deceased), and Graham, and great-grandchildren, Mack and Madison.
Survived by his dear sister, Anna-Marie Dennis, of Milton.
Carl will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Jim, and his sisters-in-law, Carol, Betty and Irene, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Carl hailed from La Belle Province and attended the University of New Brunswick, where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering in 1961, and the University of Waterloo, where he obtained a Masters in Applied Science (Civil Engineering) in 1964.
He spent 29 years working with the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority as a Materials and Testing Engineer.
Carl was a proud member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Engineering Institute of Canada, and the Canadian Geotechnical Society, and he received The Order of the Sons of Martha for service to the PEO.
Carl was also a long-standing member of St. George's Parish, St. Catharines.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines.
(Due to the extenuating circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic at the time of Elizabeth’s passing, visitation was not possible at that time. Those who wish to pay their respects to both Carl and Elizabeth are welcome to do so now.)
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St George's Anglican Church, 83 Church St, St. Catharines. Carl will be laid to rest in St George's Anglican Church Columbarium next to his beloved wife, Elizabeth, following the funeral service.
Contributions in Carl's memory may be made to Niagara Health Foundation - Niagara Falls Site (Greater Niagara General Hospital).
