David Eugene John Hahl

Too young, too soon, our hearts are broken. David Eugene John Hahl passed away suddenly on September 1, 2025, at St. Catharines General Hospital, with his beloved wife Wendy and family by his side.

David's greatest joy was his family. He was a proud and caring father to Marissa, Megan, Tyler Hahl, also Michaela & Maddy Eidt, he was also a caring grandfather who cherished his time with Arabella, Elizabeth, and Enoch. He will be forever remembered by his sister-in-law Nancy (Bernie) Allen, niece Ava, and nephew Austin. His bonus family, Lori, Earl, Jenn and AMT, even though they only had short visits together, they were cherished core memories. His daughter Tara who will miss him.

A true St. Catharines native, David was a man of quiet strength and deep dedication. For the last 23 years he was a steadfast husband to his wife, Wendy. They worked side-by-side to build their family business, Exclusive Imprint for the last 15 years. Over the years he spent endless hours on the sidelines cheering on his children playing various sports, watching hockey or football with the family on TV and having bonding time at the movies with his kids. Dave learned that he had a passion for dirt car racing at Merrittville Speedway. He even raced in the V6 division for a couple seasons. Dave enjoyed watching the races on Saturday nights that it became a tradition for him, and his presence in the grandstands and pit side will be deeply missed.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Fire department, paramedics, NRP that responded so quickly and the hospital staff for their heroic efforts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 7, 2025 from 1pm - 4 pm at Merrittville Speedway bar. 2371 Merrittville Highway, Thorold. Everyone is welcome.

As per Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place and the interment will be at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in the near future.
