Peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the St. Catharines Hospital, at the age of 70. Beloved husband of the late Joy (Farr). Loving Dad of Shelly (Brad) Gibbons and Michael (Kylee) Kirkness. Cherished Papa of Joshua and Hailey. Dear brother of Carol (Neil) DeRaaf, Alan “Chic” Kirkness, Rick (Nancy) Kirkness, and Kevin (Iris) Kirkness. Dave will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was employed for many years with General Motors prior to his retirement and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 350.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346) from 2-4 p.m.. In accordance with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to The Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
