Henry William Smeenk

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Shalom Manor on October 22nd, 2011 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Theresa for over sixty one years.Dear father of Yvonne (Bill) Korince, John (Sylvia) Smeenk, Frank Smeenk and Margaret Todd, and Wilma Smeenk. Proud Grandfather of Kim, Derek, Jeff, Brent, Andrea, and Brock, as well as five great grandchildren. Brother of Johan Smeenk of The Netherlands. Cherished brother-in-law of Maaike Dykstra. Henry was a “Favorite Fun” uncle to his fifteen Dykstra nieces and nephews here in Canada. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews in The Netherlands. Henry will be fondly remembered for his love of music, great willingness to help, and the many, many hours of volunteer work for his church, Christian schools, and his surrounding community. No one will forget his infectious laugh.

Henry’s family will receive visitors at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Monday October 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 301 Scott St. on Tuesday October 25th at 1:30pm. A private family burial will take place prior to the service.
