Irene was born October 25, 1932 and passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021 at Henley House in St. Catharines at the age of 88.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roland Pepin (1991) and her father William Slater (1981) and mother Dorothy (Miller) Slater (1995) . Loved mother of Richard (Beverly) and Rob (Barb). Loved grandma to Katherine (Michael) Yuchtman, Megan (Chris) Taylor and James Pepin. Beloved great-grandma to William and Spencer Taylor and Morgan and Emilia Yuchtman. Loving sister to Helen Rossetto and Doreen (Paul) Meagher. Loved sister-in-law to Mary Mach. Predeceased by brothers Edward and Wilfred Slater, sister in–laws Dale and Hugette Slater and brother-in-laws; Domenic Rossetto and Stan Mach. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Irene was a member of the Women’s Catholic Association since 1959, a member of the Harmony Inc -Tune Twisters Barber Shop since 1967. She met the love of her life, Roly, while they both worked at the Capitol Theatre at the age of 16 years and were married on June 2, 1957.
The family will receive visitors at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel. 75 Church Street, St. Catharines on Thursday August 12 from 2:00- 4:00 pm, with Vigil prayers beginning at 3:00 pm in the Chapel and evening visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm. Due to COVID regulations, we ask that those wishing to attend the visitation to please call 905 684 6346 to reserve a time. Those entering the facility are required to wear a mask.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral mass and rite of committal will take place.
