Passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Dom Lipa Nursing Home in Etobicoke, with family by his side, at the age of 85. Joe was born in Timmins, Ontario but spent most of his life in St. Catharines. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Matilda Benchina and his brother Anthony “Tony” Benchina. Survived by his brother Edward (Frances) Benchina, his sister in law Anna Marie “Susie” Benchina, his nieces and nephew Katie (Jeff) Olsen, Tara (Charles) Calise, David Benchina and Lesley Benchina, and his great-niece Olivia.
Joe was a Chartered Accountant spending his career in Niagara and Timmins, Ontario. He was also very proud of his Slovenian Heritage.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church St. St. Catharines. A Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
