Leo Elliot Hendsbee

Born in 1927 in Half Island Cove, Nova Scotia; the province he continued to love through the years. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leo on Monday, October 27, 2014 in his 87th year, with the love of his life Sadie by his side (his wife of 66 years). Beloved father of Elliot (Valarie), Larry , Darlene Portugaise (Dave), Wade (Pam), Michael (Natalie), and the late Noreen Burtt (Jim). Cherished grandfather of Jarrod (Jessica), Jodi (Jay), Tara (B.J.), Fawn (Ryan), Matthew, Andrew, Kiersten (Jon), Dillon, Sierra, Conner, Owin, Parker, Bradley and Kaitlyn and great-grandfather of Brianna, Braeden, Kennedy, Laci, Matteo, Jaiden, Avery, Adam, Sawyer and Kamden. He will also be missed by his son-in-law Randy and his daughters-in-law Teresa and Laura. Leo will be an eternal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Niagara Ice Dogs and the Junior B Falcons. He was also the biggest cheerleader and fan of all his grandchildren’s activities.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346), on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 am at Queen Street Baptist Church ( 57 Queen Street). Donations made to the Humane Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Interment to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
