Margaret Diane Friesen

Peacefully on November 30th, 2016 in her 84th year, our beloved mother passed away. Predeceased by her husband Stanley (2012) of 58 years and son Alex (1996). Survived by sons Jamie (Yvonne), Joel (Trish), grandchildren Stewart (Jessica), Heather (James), James Micheal, Curtis, Russell and great grandchild Parker. All of whom she loved unconditionally. Diane was a lovely and kind woman who led by example. After her softball and basketball days were past her, she volunteered countless hours with the Maycourt Club of St. Catharines. She was a board member of the Church of Transfiguration while it renovated the church and added senior living residents. Diane loved her time playing weekly bridge with some very dear friends. She kept active teaching her children to downhill ski and play tennis, all along continuing to help cut and tie grapes at her parents’ (George and Elma Stewart) farm. Diane worked more than 40 years at first Merrittville, then Ransomville Speedways with Stan and the kids, meeting and maintaining many cherished friendships.

A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held at the Church of Transfiguration, 320 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines on Wednesday December 7th, 2016 at 2p.m.
