Margaret Bearman Newman

Peacefully at her home in St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday, June 23, 2011, Margaret Bearman Newman in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Wilfrid Carter Newman and loving mother of Janet Rowley (William), Nancy Tucker (Sherwin) and Graham Newman (Heather). Dear sister of Donald Graham and pre deceased by her sister Eileen Johnston and brother Jeffrey Graham.

Cherished Grandmother of Barbara, Charles, Christopher, John, David and Peter, and Great Grandmother to Emily, Sarah, Meghan, Alex, Danielle, Alexis, Carter, Olivia, Will, Lauren and Molly.

"Mardi" epitomized elegance and style. She faced blindness and loss of hearing with a cheerful outlook and was always happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Mardi was the first to laugh at a joke, never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Her kind and gentle spirit will live on forever. A Memorial Service will be held at the HULSE& ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11 a.m., visitation 1 hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital and would be appreciated by the family.
