Passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a courageous fight on Friday, January 4, 2013 in her 86th year. Loving Mother to Anne (Ben), Bob, Harry (Deanna) and Dawn (Steve). Cherished Grandmother and Great Grandmother to Tom, Christa, Angela (John), Alyssa, Hailey, Glenna (Mark), Seth, Hannah, Megan, Carter, Caleb, Shauna, Lexi, Erika, Katrina, Benjamin and Robby. Predeceased by her Granddaughters Stephanie and Alicia. Survived by her siblings Louis, Lena and Juliet, and many nieces and nephews in Belgium. Maria was known to all as “Gran”, she was a very active volunteer, volunteering for the Parkinson’s Foundation and Community Care for over 30 years.
As per Maria’s wishes cremation has taken place. Maria’s family will receive visitors at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St., (905) 684-6346 on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 2 – 3 pm with a Celebration of Life taking place in the chapel at 3 pm.
