

Passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, September 29, 2012 in his 90th year. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years June; his children Sheila (David) Gillis, Linda (Dale) Millar, Brenda (James) Seegmiller, and Robert (Kim) Rattew; his grandchildren Edward (Jocelyn) Gillis, Stephen (Karina) Gillis, Heather (Dan) Young, Rebecca Seegmiller (Ben), Jami (Chris) Vandermarel, Kaitlyn, Emily and Gerard Rattew, and his great-grandchildren Heron and Sitka Land-Gillis and Lucy and Nyla Gillis. He will be missed by his brother-in-law William (Betty) Parks and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Gerald (1951), sisters Marjorie Higgin and Shirley Allen, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Francis (Keith) Arner. Norman served in WWII in the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers. He was a Mason for 66 years, a past District Deputy Grand Master of Windsor District, a lifetime member of Thistle Lodge #34 Amherstburg and a longtime member of Westminster United Church.
The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St., (905-684-6346) on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
