Roy Daniel Oliver

Roy Daniel Oliver - Passed away peacefully in St. Catharines, Ontario on October 3, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1920, Roy shared 71 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marjorie, until her passing in June of 2013.

He proudly served Canada as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, stationed in England from 1942 until 1945. Devoted to and dearly loved by the three generations of his family, Roy is survived by his daughter Carole and her husband John Hewitt, son Doug and his wife Rosemary and his son Bill and his wife Susie. Proud grandfather to Lee Hewitt (Julie Scott) Erin (David) Floyd, Katie (Richie) Hyndman, Sara (David) Kennedy, Carolyn Oliver, Dan Oliver and Kyoko Oliver. Great grandfather to Megan and Ben Floyd, Timothy and Ben Hyndman, Evangeline and Charlotte Kennedy. Roy also held a special place in his heart for Susan (Rushton) Chown, and she for her “Mr. O”.

Son of the late Harry and Sarah Oliver, he was predeceased by his sisters Anne, Edith, Ethel and Margaret and by his brother Harry.

The family would like to express its thanks to his many friends at Ina Grafton Gage Village, with a special thank you to Lida for her love and support.

Visitation will be held at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, (905-684-6346), on October 9, 2014 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a service in the chapel.
