Sarah Alma Payne

Passed away at 80 years of age at home surrounded by her loving family on November 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. On December 14, 1963, Alma married her best friend Irwin (Slim) whom she met while working at TRW. Always together, they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. Alma will always be cherished by her two children; son Stephen (Heidi Payne); daughter Susan (Grant Koppers); and her step daughter Diane (Allan Davey). Alma was the proud grandmother of Dylan, Janelle and Alex Payne, Brent (Karen Davey) and Jimmy (Tiffany Davey) and was the great grandmother to Charles (Davey).

Alma was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec and was the youngest of ten children. She is survived by her sister Polly (Bob Whitcomb) and brother Lyle (Jan McKelvey). Alma was a proud woman of great strength, integrity and would always put the needs of others before her own. Her caring words, loving heart and bright smile would always light up a room. She will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Special thanks to Dr. Horning, Lois Barlow, and Hospice Niagara.

Family and friends will be received at the Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel, 75 Church Street on Tuesday, Novembe 19, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 1 pm. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by Alma's family.
