Shirley Anne McLean Elliott

Peacefully at Hospice Niagara on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer at the age of 77. Survived by her loving husband Ken and children Dave (Patti) and Lori (Dan) Elder. Grandma will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Justin, Katelyn, Danielle, Jason, and Jessica. She was a “special” great grandma to Ashlea and “adopted” grandma of Cassy. Shirley is also survived by her wonderful sister Elizabeth Mendler who remained at her side in her final days. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Shirley had the love and support of not only her family, but also her extended family at Garden City Productions of which she was a Honourary Lifetime Member.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You!” to all of those who took time to care for her during her brief illness, including Hospice Niagara staff and volunteers. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations “In Memory of Shirley” be made to Hospice Niagara or Wellspring.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Hulse and English Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with the funeral service being held on Wednesday, September 7 at 11:00 am at St. George's Anglican Church.
