With great sadness the family of Treeza Parshad announces her passing from life into Heaven, peacefully, March 3rd 2022, at the age of 82. Treeza, known as Terry to her friends, was a loving, selfless and generous mother, grandmother and friend to many. Predeceased by her husband Rajinder (2002), her brothers Samuel, Julius and Lalith and her sisters, Irene, Lilian, Rahil, Zora and Zarina, and parents Hasmukh and Naomi (Patras) Peters. Treeza is survived by her son Andrew (Sonu), daughter Rebekah (Jason), her grandchildren Alisha and Adam and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Treeza was born in Delhi, India as the youngest among 8 other siblings. After attending her nursing residency in India, she bravely immigrated to Canada on her own in 1969 where she began her career as a Registered Nurse in Little Current, Ontario before moving to St. Catharines, Ontario in 1972 where she worked at the General Hospital for most of her nursing career. Her entrepreneurial spirit took her beyond nursing into 7 different businesses where she demonstrated her fearless tenacity and drive.
Treeza always had a special connection with nature. She enjoyed long drives in the country, picking apples and cherries in the Fruitbelt, fishing, and walking the lakeside beaches and nature trails. She especially enjoyed going on adventures with her daughter and time spent with her grandkids. At home she prided herself on her lush garden of colorful flowers and the best mint in the neighborhood. She loved animals and had three Shelties whom she adored. Above all, Treeza loved people from all walks of life. She always chatted with whomever she came across, wherever she was, and had tremendous compassion, empathy and wonderful sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ellington and Elliott Retirement Community for their care and support of Treeza in her twilight years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society of Guelph or St. Catharines would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, ON, on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM.
