Originally from Kansas City, Charlie attended St. Elizabeth School and Rockhurst High School followed by Tulane University. Charlie moved to St. Louis and began a career in real estate development and contracting primarily in Soulard and south St. Louis. He renovated many historic buildings. Charlie had an innate ability to see the good in every person. Charlie loved old buildings and was a talented rehabber. Charlie saw the promise in every old building, just as he did with people. Charlie was always willing to help a friend or a soon to be new friend. Charlie’s sincere interest in people made him a true friend to others.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Jane Carriker; brothers Steve Stubbers (Diane Fair) of Westwood, KS; Gregory Stubbers and Andrew Stubbers (Sherri) of Kansas City and sister Susan Scully (Michael) of St. Louis. Charlie was the favorite uncle of Yann, Mackenzie, Margaux, Ryan, Ellery, Natalie, Meghan and James and the doting great uncle to sweet Aaliyah. He was a brother-in-law, cousin and friend to so very many. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Estaque Stubbers and his parents, James and Kathleen Stubbers of Kansas City. Charlie will be especially missed by his Soulard family.
