David proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. Following his service, he built a life centered around love, family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. He held a top secret security clearance and spent time in places unknown to his wife and family. Mary would tease him about his whereabouts and he would never tell her.
In 1972, David married the love of his life, Mary V. Kempff, and together they shared a lifetime of cherished memories, unwavering companionship, and devotion.
David had a passion for photography, with a special love for capturing the beauty of birds in their natural habitats. He was also a skilled woodworker who found great joy in crafting birdhouses by hand. An avid stamp collector, David appreciated the stories and history behind each piece in his collection. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping, where he could connect with nature and those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Sue Lauber (Mike).
David is survived by his loving wife, Mary V. Kempff, along with extended family and friends who will deeply miss his gentle spirit, creativity, and quiet strength.
David will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his country and family, and the many ways he found joy in the world around him. His memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
