For as long as I can possibly remember Jerry and I have always worked on Friday nights.  Every Friday evening like clockwork he would call just to chat,inquire how I was doing,how my week went,what is the current company attitude and or gossip?  The chats were always brief but never truly appreciated on my part until last night when the call did not come.

Like so many things in life we do not value them until they are gone.  We take so much for granted every single day that we are blessed to be here.

I was not as close to Jerry as many of you especially Joe and Nancy,and yet I feel such a terrible loss because his sudden passing is a profound reminder that we need to appreciate every moment of every day.  Hug everyone you know and be grateful to be alive.

The morale at Advance is extremely low right now,we all need to work on this,strive together to move forward,appreciate what we have and be positive that our new company will get better.  The fact that Tom Brewer who really did not even know Jerry flew in and attended his funeral service is definitely a positive.

Jerry dear, we love you and miss you.  Be happy with God!

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I am a neighbor of Tom's and me and my parents go way back with Jerry. Back to the time when his parents had a grocery store. They were an awesome family. I lost my husband 9 mos ago and there just aren't any words to express how I feel for you. All I can say is to put your Faith in God and he will pull you through this. You also need to lean on your family. I am sorry I missed the visitation at the funeral home, I thought it was tonight. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Jerry was one of the nicest kindest people you could ever hope to meet. He always tried to see the best in everyone, and made the best of every situation. He will be dearly missed.

I worked with Jerry for many years at Carpet One.  He always made me laugh with his "shotgun messages" and his funny way of saying things were "off" by the "goalposts being moved."  He made me smile on many occassions.  I smile now because I know that he has Jesus in stitches with his great sense of humor.  My dearest wishes and prayers to his wife, daughter, and family during this time - and I hope you always know he was a ray of sunshine not only to you but his co-workers and customers.  Especially when he talked of traveling the country with his dearest!

I had the pleasure of working with Jerry at Carpet one for a number of years. His great sense of humor will be greatly missed.

We were acquaintances of Jerry from the store - but quickly became friends due to his open and gregarious nature. We enjoyed sharing stories of our various travels around the world, and looked forward to the next installment! Jerry was generous and always went the extra mile for us, and we were extremely saddened to hear of his passing. He was one of the good guys.  Please accept our prayers for your comfort and our condolences.

I was a classmate of Jerry's at Mehlville High School back in 1965. Our class just had our 45 Year Class Reunion. I had the pleasure of conversing with him via e-mails a while back and was sorry to hear of his untimely passing.

Jerry & I went way back. I considered him a good friend as well as a co-worker for many years. I will miss stopping in to talk to him from time to time and catching up on family news. Phyllis and Elaine, I will be over Thursday to pay my respects. He deserves it and I willl miss him. Due to work, my wife Mary will be unable to be with me. Mike Reed

Mrs. Cashen, I was so sorry to hear about Jerry.  I worked with him for years and he could always make me laugh with his quirky sense of humor.  We will miss him dearly here at Advance.  I keep running into his folders and customers.  Seeing his handwriting that I could never read every day reminds me of how much we will miss him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Jerry & Phyllis when I attended an infamous Cardinals game with Jerry's brother Thom. The storm that night at the stadium many of us won't forget, but the graciousness of Jerry will stick in my mind mostly. Soft spoken and friendly, we have all lost someone who has touched our hearts & lives one way or another. He has left a void in his Family's life full of sadness and fond memories, but the birth of his granddaughter Rhiannon will help to heal and bring happiness into their lives. May God be with you and yours.
